HSS Update - October 1, 2009

OASIS-C 'go-live' date is 3 months away

January 1, 2010 is right around the corner. HSS is pleased to bring you the latest update on our progress and plans for 2010 compliance!

CMS posted the final rules in August. They have sent out a couple of changes to the OASIS-C document since the final rule was published which can be found on the CMS web site.

They also announced that they will host a 3-part series of National Train-the-Trainer conference calls related to OASIS-C implementation. The first call will cover OASIS-C Development and Impact on Agency Operations and is scheduled for 2:30 pm (EST) on October 22, 2009.

HSS has also been working hard since our last update and we are very pleased to share with you that both The Analyzer and Advantage applications are in the initial stages of a Quality Assurance review and remain on target to be fully compatible and tested for the new OASIC-C 2010 changes. We recently completed Advantage focus group sessions for input and feedback on our progress. For those of you attending NAHC, we will have demonstrations of key features and functionalities available for both products. Stop by our booth, number 843, in Los Angeles!

In the coming weeks, we will be scheduling webinars that will go through each system in detail and review all of the changes implemented for OASIS-C. The new release will be rolled out in December for the January 1st, 2010 deadline. Please let us know which attendees from your company will need to attend these webinars and we will include them on the invitee list. There will be several webinars scheduled to facilitate all who wish to attend.

As a reminder to everyone, the new ICD-9 codes issued by CMS for implementation every October 1st have already been updated in the Advantage database. Our Analyzer team will be sending out a patch early next week to assist you in downloading these codes for The Analyzer.

Once again, HSS appreciates your continued support and business. We are working expeditiously to bring you these changes to ensure a smooth transition on January 1st, 2010.
